For the benefit of anyone who has not heard of</div> <div>  this old Grenoside event, it started in 1950 by Mr. Walter Platts,</div> <div>  an old Grenoside resident, and was competed for annually till 1992.</div> <div>          Mr Walter Platts passed away but his nephew Gary kept the</div> <div> family tradition alive, until work commitments unfortunately forced him</div> <div> to cease being the main organiser.</div> <div>         The event has been revived by a new committee which thankfully</div> <div> has another member of the Platts family Matthew.</div> <div>          All competitors will receive a Chase Programme, and on </div> <div> completion of the Chase course will receive a Chase medal. the </div> <div> presentations will be held outside The Angel public house.</div> <div>         Many thanks to our sponsors for this years race....White Rose</div> <div> Inns and  Supersalon Sweeny 4, also I would like to say thankyou </div> <div> to all the members of the committee and the stewards for their tireless</div> <div> work in bringing this event back to life.</div> <div>           Finally a word about the safety protection of both the runners </div> <div> and the spectators, the main parts of the road will have barriers,</div> <div>           Please be sure to stay on the correct side of these barriers</div> <div> and observe the stewards instructions.</div> <bR> <div>          Good luck to all competitors, and heres hoping everyone will have</div> <div> an enjoyable evening.</div> <div>                                    P.K.
