Our extensive fleet of saloon cars, estate vehicles and hackney carraiges have become a prominant fixture on the roads of Sheffield. All of our drivers receive comprehensive training, ensuring that our customer experience is always consistent. Our state of the art dispatch software enables us to immediately dispatch your car, and we aim to have your vehicle with you within 15 minutes of you placing your booking. We have GPS technology built into our system which allows us to track all our vehicles at any time and helps us to pick up over 99% of our passengers on time, every time. Sheffield City Taxis was formed in May 2003 and had a fleet of 500 private hire vehicles. Today, we are the largest taxi company in South Yorkshire, operating with over 750 vehicles ranging from private hire vehicles, hackney carriages, wheelchair accessible vehicles, 6-7 seated people carriers, 8-56 seated coaches, executive cars, and with prior notice we can organise female drivers.

We believe that our success has evolved from our commitment to providing a taxi company that delivers a consistently reliable service, with drivers and staff that care and maintain good old-fashioned values.

All our telephonists are hand picked with many years experience between them, each taking great pride in the work that they cover.

City Taxis has invested in the very latest technology at our call centre and in our vehicles to maintain our commitment to our customers needs.

We are proud that we are one of the largest and most technologically advanced taxi fleets in the UK. During a normal week we will complete between 50000 and 55000 jobs.

These are just a few of the new services we are able to offer you:

1)    “Ring Back” – this is where our automated system informs you that your vehicle is about to arrive (this can be done to a mobile or land-line number).

2)    Internet booking – this service enables the customer to manage their own taxi bookings via the internet, this facility allows the tracking and  progress of any job as it is being carried out.  

3)    IVR – an automated booking service linked to your phone number via our client data base meaning you never have to wait for your call to be answered. You can book a taxi to your designated pick up point without speaking to an operator.

4)    The majority of our accounts now receive their invoices by e-mail on a weekly or monthly basis.

All our vehicles are fitted with a navigation facility and GPS, a satellite system that enables our telephonist to quote an accurate arrival time for your booking.

CCTV camera systems are currently being installed into cars across our fleet. Approximately 25% of the City fleet now has CCTV fitted which makes our service safer for both the customer and the driver.

We are currently contracted to over 500 companies in and around the Sheffield region, amongst are clients are the NHS Teaching Hospital Trust, South Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Sheffield Education, Social Services, Sheffield Colleges, Sheffield Care Trust, The Holiday Inn and many more (trade references are available on request).
